Charity work with Clouds Children's Care and other private donors

Affinity Children’s Care is pleased to start to work alongside Cloud’s Children’s Care, who have been coordinating charitable projects in other countries for the last few years.

Manjit, Affinity and Clouds Director, is a second-generation immigrant; this, along with his experience of his son gaining a place at Cambridge University where he studied Mathematics (and gained a Master’s!), made Manjit see how education can really change people’s lives, including his own family’s.

In his working history, Manjit has set up charities in Nottingham to support those who suffered with substance misuse, and worked in the NHS and Local Authorities in London and East Midlands, where he used his skills to set up projects to help disadvantaged people in hard to reach communities.

In 2015, Manjit’s first children’s home was registered with Ofsted; he used these profits to help others in groups to fund charities in the UK. Manjit then, due to his own background, wanted to help with education projects in other countries, so he asked other people he knew to support with donations to get this project started.

After a long process fraught with political issues, the first school in Kashmir was set up and Manjit was able to offer an education and laptops for children who otherwise would not get the opportunity.

In 2021, the first project in Brazil around education was set up, giving local children English, yoga and Brazilian jujitsu lessons. The logo for Bright Futures NGO was even designed by one of the children supported where they won some Bluetooth headphones.

Bright Futures NGO (non-profit organisation) is set up to offer education, yoga and training on how to become an entrepreneur to children in other countries where education is lacking; this will help promote their skills and knowledge and will give them the power to make changes for their future.
